Message from the Chair of Governors

Dear all,

I am immensely proud to welcome you to our school.  Carlton VC C of E Primary School is a nurturing and welcoming community, and the Board of Governors are very proud to be an active part of our learning environment.

Our Governing Board is made up of parents, staff and members of our local community who all bring with them a variety and wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience.  We work closely with Mrs Bevis and the team to ensure the best for all the children in our care. We are committed to maintaining and improving the very high standards of the school. We aim to achieve this by helping to set the school’s strategic direction, whilst ensuring that it meets its statutory responsibilities.

As governors, we do not get involved in the operational running of the school, but we do contribute to the schools’ development plan as well as challenge, review and monitor important areas such as the budget, the impact of the curriculum and teaching and the progress and attainment of all our pupils. We ensure that we visit regularly and are known to the school team, the children, and their families.
